I would have to add to Jean's concise answer: she has good genes as well.

I don't understand. What does Popeye's wife have to do with this?

About her skin being so good, with the money she has cosmetic surgury, and the camera can have a soft lense on it to disfuse her wrinkles. She is no different then any other , she ages....

Funny, I don't see a lot of soft lenses used on the recent fan pictures and she still looks amazing.

Good genes, great skin, and a strong natural jaw-line all help. Just take a look at that face - there is some pretty impressive sub-structure going on there.

as Bernadette says....just keep moving on.....

If you wait to meet her in person at the stage door, you'll see that she looks even better in person than she does in photos. It's not an illusion or the result of special lenses. She's just a very beautiful woman and she has the kind of looks that age well. Of course she ages--she is human after all, believe it or not! But she also has a very youthful attitude and approach to life and that has a lot to do with it too.

I agree. There is no doubt that Bernadette has aged but she is doing it quite gradually and beautifully because she takes such good care of herself (diet and skin). She doesn't look plastic or just like she did when she was 30 and that is just fine with me.

Just curious...How do you know there is no soft lenses used, plus how do you honestly not know that she has had plastic surgury? She is not going to admit to it!!

I think everyone is stating that soft lenses were not used on the fan pictures (the ones that Jean linked to make her point) because how many people do you know who own soft lenses for their digital cameras they bought at Target or whereever? Also, many of the fan pictures on this site were taken by those of us who post here so we can tell you for sure that we just used a regular digital camera with no special lenses or touch ups.

As for whether she has had plastic surgery ... of course none of us know that and I'd have to guess that hardly any of us care. Bernadette certainly doesn't look like she's had any major work done. If she has, good for her for choosing such a remarkable surgeon and if she hasn't well, that is fine too.

Anonymous, I did not take the photos I referenced; however, as Moljul pointed out, those photos were taken by people from this site (one of whom is the site owner) who can vouch that they did not use a soft lens.

Why are you so insistent/persistent about this issue? This is saying more about you than perhaps you realize, and not in a healthy constructive way.

And, of course it must be asked, why would you come to a person's fan site and be so negative and unwilling to have a constructive adult dialogue?

This is the last I'll engage with you on this subject as it's getting nowhere and frankly it's pretty irrelevant to my admiration/ liking/caring for Bernadette as a performer and as a person.
